the chicken wins!

So, I watched celebrity apprentice, and loved the task were they created new meals for Schwans.  The turkey meatballs and pasta won, and at the time I thought it should have, it looked the best out of the two meals.  A couple of weeks ago I got the turkey meatballs and pasta from schwans.  It came with broccoli, which I have always loved, so it was a good meal.  Nothing too special but for a quick healthy meal it was great.  Well, today I decided to get the orange asian chicken, which I was hesitant to try, but it was amazing!!  It came with the most wonderful roasted sweet potatoes, which I usually don't eat, and green beans with almonds.  It's just a tv dinner, but while I was cooking it in the microwave sweet potatoes with a touch of cinnamon smelled amazing.  Anyways I highly recommend the chicken!

a LONG cross country

Yesterday we got up early and headed to the airport, the best way to start a Saturday!  We flew to La Grange for a fly in and to see some of our friends Jerome and his wife Blythe who live there.  Blythe and I had a great time shopping, I had no idea La Grange has this amazing kitchen store!  I can not wait to go back and shop some more :)  We left La Grange in the evening and since Aaron had to make a long cross country flight for his commercial license, we headed further South.  It took several stops for fuel (we ended up at Corpus Christi, which was so cool to land at an international airport!!) and a stop back at La Grange to pick up Aaron's cell phone he left, so it was a long, long night.  We ended up getting back at Waco around 2, but it was so much fun and so worth it!!  I can't wait to do it again!  

Birthday and wedding cake

Last week was a busy, busy week.  Saturday I did a huge wedding cake for the daughter of a good friend. Congratulations Wendy and Tommy!  Check out the boots Aaron made for the grooms cake out of rice crispy treats...he did awesome! There is no way I could have done them myself.  The cake was so much fun, but we didn't get to fully celebrate Aaron's birthday last Thursday..I didn't even get to make him a cake :(  It was Aaron's first 29th birthday, as he kept saying!  His last year in his 20's :)  Happy birthday, ich liebe dich!  

Congratulations Lindsey!

One of our good friends Lindsey just graduated from Baylor and is on her way to Georgia for grad school.  We are going miss her so much but are so proud and excited for her!!  I know I will see her at Homecoming, but I am sad we won't have any more "Friends" nights.  She wanted to go flying so we took her up today...I think we have a future pilot :)  
We love you Lindsey and know you are going to do great at UGA!!  And maybe we can plan a trip out to Georgia to see you!!

my hubby is a master!!

Graduation is finally over...It was a wonderful weekend!!  All the family came in Friday and we had a great time at the hooding ceremony.  And something else was going on friday, oh, that's right, it was our 5th anniversary!!  I can not believe it has been 5 years.  We had a great dinner and Aaron got to give his speech and finally get to put his masters hood on.  Then Saturday was the big graduation day.  We woke up to a storm!  It was raining so hard and poor Aaron had to mow the yard and get reading for his party in the rain.  It finally stopped by the time graduation was over, so that's good.  We had the family and lots of friends come over to our house and we grilled fajitas and had a wonderful feast!!  Three years of grad school and it is over!!

It's finally time for graduation!!  Three years of school and my hubby will get his masters this weekend.  We have had a busy week getting ready.  Today I started his cake, and airplane cake of course :)  And because graduation isn't exciting enough, friday is our anniversary!  It is going to be a fun weekend, I can not wait for all our family and friends to be here!  

Wine and Wildflower Weekend!!

Last weekend we went to Fredericksburg with some good friends for a wine and wildflower tour! We went to 5 wineries, I had no idea Texas had such wonderful wine!! My favorites are the sweet desert wines, I found an amazing sparkling almond that I loved! We also went to a great wildflower farm and nursery and got a couple of really pretty plants for the back yard. It was a great weekend for a vacation because Aaron had his masters case study presentation last week and passed (not that there was any doubt, he was so ready and did awesome)!! Now just a couple of weeks until graduation :) Fredericksburg is our favorite Texas city, we can not wait to go back!!

Garden Party

Today we went to the Honors Residential College's Garden Party!  It was moved inside because of the weather, but it was still wonderful.

Formal!

I love being an advisor and getting to still dress up and go to formals!  Tonight we went to Kappa Delta's Spring formal and it was so much fun!  The girls are wonderful!!  I remember going to formals as an undergrad, I can't believe how long ago that was.  Being a KD advisor is definitely keeping me young!

Happy Easter

We had a wonderful Easter weekend in Houston with my parents.  Friday we went to visit my grandfather and Aaron planted 20 tomato plants for him.  Saturday we went to Galveston to the Lone Star Flight Museum.  I had never been before and Aaron hadn't seen the museum since Ike, so it was a lot of fun!  We had a great morning today at church, a wonderful lunch, and got to visit my grandmother and lots of family this afternoon.  Tomorrow we are going to do some yard work and put in our garden, I can't wait!!

We got our plane tickets to Germany today, I am so excited!! We are going in September this year, and I can not wait to see our friends!! So this means it's time to get out my German book and flashcards and start trying again to learn a little German before we go..I hope I do better than last year!

diamond pendant!

Every year Baylor recognizes faculty and staff who have 5, 10, 15 (and so on) years of service, and today I got my 5 year pendant!  It has a diamond in it!  I know it is only 5 years, there are many who have 35, 40, and there was even a 45 and a 50 year recipient today, but I am so proud, and honored to work for such wonderful people.  

haha, this is so me in the kitchen when I am baking! I am so thankful to have such a wonderful husband who cleans for me after a long day of cake decorating!!

2009!

What a blessing 2009 has been so far! I can't believe this is my first post with all the wonderful things happening in our lives. Aaron has left admissions to start teaching in the Baylor aviation department and to finally pursue an aviation career. Best professional decision he has ever made! He started teaching his aviation history class this week and loves it..2009 is going to be an absolutely amazing year!
